A beautiful obi (kimono sash) decorated one of the display spaces. Designed strictly for display, this obi features a typical kyoto scene of temple building and moon. On the right, a distant mountain suiseki rests on a display bench directly above a small vase of accent grasses. This style of display was quite unlike anything I have seen before. The angled placement of vertical drape soft stone and create distance, as if it were an image glimpsed between two slightly parted shojiscreens.
